DREWS TAKE LEAD
THE Dundas Cup will have a new home this season but whether that is here in Hamilton or down south in Macarthur remains to be seen as the Hamilton and District Cricket Association A grade grand final remains in the balance after the first two days play at Melville Oval.
In weather conditions that would be expected in January and February, the players took to the oval looking to cap off their summer with victory and Macarthur skipper Simon Sharrock was quick to have first use of the wicket as the coin fell his way.
Melville Oval looked an absolute picture and the head groundsman, Jason Mulley, is to be congratulated for the way in which the ground was presented and it has been a talking point for most of the summer around town.
Sharrock took strike along with regular opening partner, Greg Carter, as Josh Nield was handed the new ball to get the match underway.
