Father-son duo taste premiership success
WHILE premiership success is always amazing in its own right, one way to sweeten the experience is to enjoy a big grand final win with family.
Portland Colts took away an incredible win against Tyrendarra in this year’s Portland and District Cricket Association A grade grand final and for father-son duo Darren and James Chapple it was a day that will be remembered for a long time to come.
For 51-year-old Darren Chapple Saturday’s result marked the end of a long playing career within the PDCA, with the Colts icon retiring after eight A grade premierships to his name.
“It’s a good time to finish things off,” Chapple said.
