Murray stars during junior college year
PORTLAND soccer sensation Dylan Murray has gone to new heights during his junior (third) year at Texas A&M Texarkana University, home of the Eagles.
Completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology Murray, 21, was part of a new program at Texarkana, a town close to the border of Texas and Arkansas, led by former professional soccer player Don Koontz, after spending two years at Feather River College in California.
Although it was a tough season for the Eagles, winning only three games, Murray said it was a valuable experience.
“The season itself started off strangely with a couple of really hard weeks training in 100 degree (Fahrenheit) heat before we won our first game 4-2, in which I had two assists from free kicks and a goal myself,” Murray said.
