Regional road safety focus for Portland forum
REGIONAL road safety issues will be discussed at a Victorian Transport Association breakfast forum tomorrow at the Portland Golf Club.
The forum, co-hosted by the VTA and the Victorian Enforcement Liaison Committee, will discuss safety matters of interest to freight operators, transport industry and the broader community.
The forum will concentrate mainly on road users, but rail is also on the agenda.
The committee is a reference group comprised of the VTA, VicRoads, WorkSafe Victoria and Victoria Police.
Among its responsibilities is regular engagement with the Victorian freight industry on policies and practices intended to create a safer workplace for transport operators.
