Council to adopt new recycling measures
RECYCLING waste is one of the most important services a shire delivers and the way it is collected and dealt with is heading for change in Southern Grampians.
The first of the changes will be an obvious one – the distribution of thousands of big 240-litre waste bins for Hamilton residents.
Household garbage is to be collected weekly as normal but the big recycling bins will now be picked up fortnightly, on the same day as the garbage bins.
The 240lt bin service will be introduced soon. This week, a shed in the Peck St premises of the Wheelie Waste company was stacked with about 4500 of the yellow-topped bins, all being assembled for their new service.
