Portland Basketball Association hosts grand finals
IT was grand final time for the Portland Basketball Association on Sunday with seven teams ranging from divisions two to three, taking home the ultimate prize.
The association’s division one men’s and Portland Invitational League finals were also played, with Tigersharks Gold and Wombats winning respectively.

Division two men
A final minute lay-up from Matthew Payne has lifted Tigersharks Red to a thrilling 39-38 victory against Shawnee Black.
Tigersharks trailed by eight points midway through the second half, but ended the game on a 9-0 run, concluded by Payne’s game-winning lay-up.
Tigersharks’ Jack Hernan was named best on court for the match, totalling a team-high nine points with Tanner Boots collecting seven points and Payne six.
Sam Wilson was the game’s leading scorer with 10 points for Shawnee, while Cody Driscoll and Levi Chapman each had seven.
Division two women
A superb offensive performance from young gun Tayla Stock has led Shawnee to a 60-53 win against Tigersharks Red in a high scoring affair.
Shawnee led for the majority of the match, and was up by 16 points late in the second half, before Tigersharks put on a furious run to get to within five points.
Stock finished the match as best on court with 27 points and was ably supported on the offensive end by Heidi Jones and Sarah Tunstall with 12 and nine points respectively.
Katie Zeunert led three players in double figures for Tigersharks, collecting 17 points, while Nikita Daniel finished with 15 and Beth Wilson 13.
