THE maintenance work being done on the tugboat Yarra at the Port of Portland’s dry dock facilities can provide only a brief snapshot of what a larger dry dock would mean to the Portland district economy.

PORTLAND State Emergency Service volunteers and police were kept busy during a seven-hour period on the weekend as wind gusts of up to 109km/h brought down trees and powerlines down across wide area of the lower south-west.
