A TOY paradise - Nikki Helm, 5, from Moutajup, no doubt had trouble deciding what she wanted to take home at the Hamilton Lions Club Trash and Treasure sale on Sunday. About 2000-2500 people passed through the doors on Sunday to browse the goods on offer. The most popular stalls included the Lions second hand goods stall, clothing stall and children's activities. HAMILTON man, Rex Macleod, made sure his two Samoyed beauties, Kate and Susie, were registered for the next 12 months when he picked up his registration tags on Tuesday. Southern Grampians Shire Council needs many more residents to follow his example. Registrations so far have fallen sharply from 2004 - they are down about 1600 dogs and 360 cats. The shire's local laws officers will conduct a randon doorknock across the shire this month to check on dog and cat registrations. A story on the campaign will be in Saturday's Spectator. IT'S that time of year - the annual Lions Club Trash and Treasure sale is on again this Sunday at the Hamilton Showgrounds. Hamilton Lions members, such as Ray Corbett (left), Carl Lang and Percy Mills, have been busy this week preparing for the big day. The market will feature about 100 stalls and there will also be enterainment and children's activities, as well as doughnuts and the Lions barbecue. Entry is by a gold coin donation for adults with children free.
