Boxing it up for next year LEONIE Bell of Wallacedale was making the most of the Boxing Day sales in Hamilton and stocking up on wrapping paper and other items for Christmas 2009. The day started out slowly but as Hamilton started to wake up and recover from a Christmas Day full of food, drinks and presents the shoppers started to emerge. There were bargains to be had around Hamilton, but only several stores opened up for the traditional day of big post-Christmas sales. Among those spending Christmas vouchers and even buying presents for next year, there were still a few sneakily returning and exchanging those unwanted Christmas gifts. A full wrap-up of the sales will appear in Tuesday’s edition of The Spectator. Photo: CHRIS RICHES 081226cr05 27 December 2008 - Hamilton Spectator |

THE TALL AND THE SHORT OF IT COLERAINE football dynamo Jarryd Lewis (left) gives away 32cm to his mate and Richmond Football Club draftee Tyrone Vickery, but it still won’t stop him from trying to stop the 200cm ruckman/forward in a one-on-one situation.
Vickery is in Coleraine visiting family and friends for Christmas and caught up with the Hamilton Spectator’s Phil Holmes on his time in Coleraine and his new life with the Tigers.
