A YOUNG Hamilton man is in a “critical but stable” condition following a car accident in Hamilton on Wednesday morning.
Ricky Ellis, of Hamilton, was transferred from Hamilton Base Hospital to Royal Melbourne Hospital on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for RMH yesterday morning said Mr Ellis was in a “critical but stable” condition.
He was one of two occupants of a vehicle which rolled in Riley St, Hamilton, about 5.15am on Wednesday.
Police media said at the time that the driver was in a “serious condition” and the passenger was “suffering from minor injuries”.
Police had attempted to intercept the vehicle on the Glenelg Hwy after it was allegedly detected travelling at high speed and began following it.
“It’s believed the allegedly stolen car lost control on a bend in Riley St, Hamilton, about 5.15am,” police media said.
The scene of the accident was under tight police surveillance for many hours after the accident. Police from the Major Collision Squad attended the scene.
Sergeant Graham Quirk, of Hamilton, said yesterday that police investigations into the accident were continuing.
