Election forum in Portland

PORTLAND residents will have the opportunity to hear and quiz Wannon candidates at an election forum on Sunday night.

The forum has been initiated by Uniting Church minister Denise Naish and will be held at the church complex in Percy St.
Reverend Naish said all nine candidates had been invited to attend the forum.
“We want to hear what their policies are for Wannon, so there will be time for each candidate to make a presentation and for the public to ask questions,” she said.
“It will be about policies,” she said.
She said the Uniting Church’s national assembly had prepared a paper for discussion, which would probably be discussed during the forum.
“If anyone wants to familiarise themselves with the paper, it is on the internet — they should google Uniting Church national assembly and then click on the election section,” she said.
The forum will be at 7pm and is expected to last at least an hour and a half.
A supper will be held after the forum.
