PORTLAND’S chances of making finals in the Country Basketball League’s South West Men’s Division took a serious hit this weekend when the Coasters lost both games in their double-header clash against Terang and Warrnambool.
Portland went into the weekend just outside the top-four and had a very real chance of taking Terang’s place in the four if they had been able to win one or both of the matches.
The Coasters did not do themselves any favours in the Terang match on Saturday night however, playing a largely undisciplined game, particularly in the second half, to squander what was realistically a golden opportunity to put themselves in top-four contention.
