Mean act, as kids’ bike stolen from yard
JUST mean … the Prendergast kids, Austen, 14, Carter, 12, Kingsley, 8, La Paige, 7 and Lawson, 10 are devastated that their new bike has been stolen right before Christmas and the school holidays.

SPECTATOR photographer, Talitha Prendergast and husband Luke, are fuming over what they describe as a “mean, low act”, right before Christmas.

Last weekend someone entered their Pierrepoint St property and stole their children’s motorbike – the bike they bought just six months ago.

“We saved up to purchase this, we couldn’t afford a bike each, so we saved up for a big one that everyone would grow into and share and now we definitely can’t afford to replace it,” she said.

She said the most unsettling aspect of the incident, was the fact that someone took the liberty of entering property.

“It’s the invasion of privacy, the fact that they thought it was okay to come onto our property and take something that didn’t belong to them, that’s the scariest thing.”

The off-road bike is an 80cc blue Atomik, with the number 21 on the rear guards.

Ms Prendergast asked people to keep an eye out for the bike and report any sightings to her or the police.

She said despite having reported the matter to the police, if the bike was returned to her family undamaged, she would not pursue the matter any further.

Anyone with information about the bike can contact Hamilton Police on 5572 1999, Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Ms Prendergast at The Spectator or via Facebook.
