TWO top bands are set to headline the inaugural Prickly Moses Country Music Hoedown and Race Day at the Hamilton racecourse on February 5.
Award-winning, Melbourne-based country band, The Dalton Gang and popular south-west band, The Russ Goodear Band are confirmed for the hoedown.
Hamilton Racing Club secretary, John Donnelly said the club was thrilled to have the two bands booked for the race day on Sunday, February 5, which promises to be a fantastic family day out trackside.
“Great country music, good company and the offer of fantastic food and wine is assured for our first ever Prickly Moses Country Music hoedown,” Mr Donnelly said.
“We expect the great line-up of talent will attract a diverse audience from our own backyard and beyond.
Mr Donnelly said the Sunday race meeting and hoedown was the club’s first meeting for 2012, which would head up a big year for the club.
The club has another Sunday race day two weeks later on Sunday, February 19 – when the Russ Goodear Band returns to host the search for Hamilton’s rising star.
Then in mid-April the club hosts its annual two-day Cup Carnival on April 14 and 15 – before hosting a second Cup Day in October.
