SAM Hunter’s fighting spirit continues, despite some setbacks in her recovery from Tuesday’s car crash west of Glenthompson.
Mum, Marie, said 19-year-old Sam had been admitted into intensive care after doctors had difficulty maintaining her lung function and oxygen levels in her blood.
“She’s still in really good spirits,” Marie said.
“They had to take her off some medication because she had a reaction to it; she had a bit of a turn the other night, which was very scary for a little while, but she’s doing better now.”
Marie said messages from family and friends on both her personal and The Spectator Facebook pages had boosted Sam’s spirits and well wishes left at Marie’s own workplace had been of great comfort to the entire family.
She said doctors were now concentrating on stabilising Sam’s blood oxygen levels and lung function, before dealing with her broken left ankle.
