DAVID (Byaduk CC) and Goliath (Coleraine CC) will meet in the Hamilton and District Cricket Association’s C grade one-day grand final today in what many are calling a one-sided affair.
If you remember back to your bible studies it was David who triumphed against the more fancied Goliath by finding the weakness that toppled the giant.
So too must Byaduk when they face off against Coleraine today at Kennedy Oval West.
Coleraine is at full strength for the match and they could be forgiven for thinking that the result is a foregone conclusion, but the plucky Ducks will not allow their more fancied opponents to overwhelm them.
Many people think that it is time that Coleraine moved up to B grade, but that is a discussion for a later day.
Today they appear to be far too strong on paper for the Byaduk team but finals are never played on paper and David may just prevail again against Goliath.
