THE satisfaction of creating life from a tiny seed is enough to make Hamilton gardener, Robin Kissel, jump for joy.
But for now, the 2011 Victorian ABC Gardener of the Year will spread her love of all things outdoors at the first 2012 Society for Growing Australian Plants (SGAP) meeting for 2012.
Ms Kissel said she was overwhelmed by the opportunity to speak at the local meeting on Wednesday.
“It’s very kind of them,” she said.
“I’ve been asked to speak about the garden I had at Wildwood and share my story of how I developed it.
“It’s my passion so it’s fairly easy to talk about.”
She said she was forever learning new things about gardening and was constantly amazed by the gardening culture in Hamilton.
“It’s a lovely place to live,” she said.
The first meeting of the year will be held at the Hamilton Institute of Rural Learning at 7.30pm on February 8. Everyone is welcome. Donations appreciated.
