A HEYWOOD woman died following a single vehicle accidents on the Glenelg Hwy, near Lake Bolac, on Sunday.
The 35 year-old woman was driving east in a red Mazda when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree between Lake Bolac and Wickliffe about 10am. She sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, Hamilton police are investigating a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Ballarat and Rippon Rds on Saturday about 3.40pm.
Sgt Phelan said two people were injured in the accident.
Edenhope police are investigating a single vehicle on the Harrow-Casterton Rd about 1am on Saturday.
Senior Constable Darren Ferluga, of Edenhope, said the 19 year-old driver from Culla, failed to negotiate a right hand bend and ran off the road at cutting.
“The vehicle went about 40 metres off the road before hitting a 40cm red gum, sheared it off and then went through a fence and finished a further 15 metres from the gum tree.
“The car had caught fire, but the driver managed to get out of the car.”
Sen Const Ferluga said the resulting fire burned about three hectares.
