WILD FIRE: Blue gums burn at Branxholme

Spectator-Observer Partnership  |  A FIRE on the Murndal–Branxholme Rd on Tuesday burnt about 137ha of grassland and blue gum plantations. CFA, DSE and plantation crews attended the fire, and worked through the night to consolidate the break around the burnt area. Victoria Police assisted residents of three houses to evacuate voluntarily. They were allowed to return on Tuesday evening. There were minimal stock and fences lost, and some hay bales were involved.
