Army to train in Penshurst

PENSHURST residents are being reminded that the Australian Defence Force will be conducting training exercises in the town this weekend.

Army Reservists from the 8th /7th Battalion, The Royal Victoria Regiment will be conducting training activities around the town from late Friday to midday on Sunday.

The exercise will involve troops from around South West Victoria, including Geelong and Laverton taking part in patrols around Penshurst and drills at the CFA’s Western District Training Ground on Dunkeld Rd.

The Battalion currently has members posted overseas on operations, with some of these soldiers drawn from the south-west area.
