PORTLAND’S Holden dealership – one of the oldest in Australia – is set to close.
Despite moving Hyundai off the failing site and changing its dealer principal twice in as many months, the decision has been made to close Portland Holden.
Job losses are expected to result from the closure of business.
The demise of the Henty Highway business marks the end of an era for Holden in Portland, with the dealership dating back to 1937.
Current dealer principal of Discovery Auto Group Portland, Bill Crillis confirmed to the Portland Observer on Wednesday evening that the decision had been made to officially close the business by March 31.
Mr Crillis and business owner Ray Finlayson spoke with staff yesterday morning about the closure of Holden and other changes to Discovery Auto Group Portland.
