In fact, Cameron was one of 17 debutantes when the Giants opened their 2012 season campaign against the Sydney Swans on Saturday night at ANZ Stadium.
The Swans ran out winners against an impressive Giants outfit in the first of the Sydney derbys, winning 14.16 (100) to 5.7 (37).
Cameron has impressed throughout the club’s pre-season NAB Cup matches and in the same vein against the Swans.
The Giants’ youngsters, along with senior campaigners such as James McDonald and Chad Cornes, more than held their own against the might of a recognised top six outfit.
The match in Sydney was a stand-alone opener for the 2012 season.
The harbour city was also the venue for the season launch.
The Giants will play North Melbourne in round two on Sunday, April 8.
