A TEENAGE shop assistant faced a knife-wielding youth in the Edgar Street General Store in a brazen daylight robbery on Friday afternoon.
The armed youth and two accomplices, all wearing balaclavas, entered the store, on the corner of Edgar St and Blackwood Court, Portland, at 5.10pm, Friday. The 16-year-old shop assistant was threatened with the knife, and the trio stole some $1500 in cash and cartons of cigarettes, before leaving on foot.
They were captured on video on the store’s security camera, but police were yesterday still to identify the culprits.
The police are seeking assistance from the public to identify the youths. If you have any information, contact the Criminal Investigation Unit on 5523 1999.
