PORTLAND CIU is investigating the deaths of two males on Thursday.
Detective Sergeant Steve Brown, of Portland CIU, said one male, believed to be a former Casterton man, was found dead in a Strathdownie house and the other at a Dartmoor residence.
“Both persons were known to each other,” Det Sgt Brown said.
“At 11.35am yesterday (Thursday) a 41 year-old male was found deceased in a house on the Glenelg Hwy at Strathdownie. He was found by his father in the kitchen.
“At 10.50am yesterday (Thursday) a 37 year-old was found dead in a house in Egan St, Dartmoor. He was found in a bedroom by another occupant of the house.
“We’re investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths and have been liaising with the Homicide Squad.”
Det Sgt Brown said both bodies had been conveyed to Melbourne and post mortems were to be performed yesterday.
