SOUTH-WEST roads have received $1.8million in road works attention this financial year, with the latest round beginning between Hamilton and Dunkeld, this month.
VicRoads south western regional director, William Tieppo said in addition to major highways, six sections of the Portland-Casterton Rd had undergone $270,000 in works and five sections of the Coleraine-Merino Rd, about $200,000.
Casterton’s main street has also undergone a $200,000 facelift and about $300,000 in asphalt resurfacing has repaired cracking and chipped seals at the intersection of the Henty Hwy and Dartmoor-Hamilton Rd.
“The Victorian Government also announced funding of $1.78 million for major pavement rehabilitation works on the Glenelg Highway, between Hamilton and Dunkeld and construction has now commenced,” Mr Tieppo said.
