IT’S confirmed: Southern Grampians Shire is the heart of Victoria, where the most people gave blood in an Australian Red Cross Blood Service challenge.
A campaign that pitted town against town saw local residents give 257 donations between March 19 and April 29, with the highest percentage of population to donate.
Hamilton donor centre manager, Pam Templeton said there were 22 new donors for April, with four new faces on an extra day over the Easter holiday period.
“We’re over 150 donations up on the year so far, but we need to keep it going so we can say ‘yes, Hamilton has done it again’,” she said.
