MERINO man, Ian Whalley, has continued to gather support for his proposition to have a race day train bring passengers from Melbourne to the Hamilton Cup on October 28 this year.
Last month, Mr Whalley presented an idea through The Spectator to the people of Hamilton and surrounding areas in search of support.
He suggested racegoers could catch a train from Melbourne to Ararat and then take bus rides through the Grampians to the racing club.
But after gathering important feedback from his first pitch, Mr Whalley found a different route he believed would be much more suitable for the travelling passengers.
