This theme celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Canberra and acknowledges its long history.
Dhauwurd-Wurrung Elderly and Community Health Service (DWECHS) celebrated NAIDOC Week on Tuesday with community activities, including a cultural performance by the Winda-Mara Dancers, a flag raising ceremony, community members planting hands in the grass at DWECHS, and a barbecue lunch while Indigenous country singer Johnny Lovett performed.
Activities at the Winda-Mara Aboriginal Corporation (WMAC) throughout the week including a flag raising ceremony on Monday with a traditional dance performance; on Tuesday there was an Elders lunch, as well as a movie night; a craft day and community dinner on Wednesday, and an open day at the Indigenous Protection Area at Tyrendarra yesterday, as well as a games night.
