THE Portland Toy Library is extending its hours to help cater for busy families.
The toy library operates at Portland Primary School, in Palmer St.
It has, in the past, been open each Friday during school terms from 11am to 12.15pm. However, organiser Helen Palmer said that, through speaking to many people in the community, it was found that more flexible hours would mean more local families could access the toys offered by the library.
“We have extended our hours to open every second Saturday from 10.30am to 11.30am, starting this Saturday,” Mrs Palmer said.
To borrow the toys, people need to be members of the library, which involves an annual membership. Mrs Palmer said there are concession and grandparent memberships available too, to cater for all families.
