HAMILTON’S schools could be affected by a state wide teachers strike in September, based on the region’s involvement in previous industrial action.
Fair Work Australia has given the Australian Education Union (AEU) permission to cast a membership ballot to decide whether to strike in September.
Hamilton area teachers and educational support staff will join their colleagues across the state will take part in a vote within the next two weeks.
Baimbridge College principal, Robert Vecchiet said he could not say for sure how many of his staff would take part, but the last strike had attracted a lot of support.
