Yes, there are items on sale, but really, people visit the Hamilton store to escape from life and discuss the craze that is reconnecting high school students with their grandmas: knitting.
Owner Jackie O’Brien was recognised as one of seven ‘Women of Wool’ at the Australian Sheep and Wool show in Bendigo last week.
Spokeswoman Jacqueline McArthur said the series was about celebrating the passionate women behind promoting and utilising a fibre grown by local famers.
“I’m a woolgrower and how this started is that woolgrowers and lamb producers really wanted to meet people who love their product,” she said.
