A WARRAYURE woman has proved her worth in the community, beating almost 2500 other people to become the regional winner in the Family Day Care Australia Educator of the Year awards.
Despite receiving the top honour, family day care educator, Joyce Tonissen, will stop working at the end of this year, leaving behind more than 15 years of fond memories with many local children.
“Having to implement the new National Regulations and Frameworks has certainly brought forward my decision sooner rather than later,” she said.
“What I will miss the most is seeing the children grow and develop.”
Family day care provides a nurturing, stimulating and safe environment for all children, with the Commonwealth Government providing financial support for the service under the Child Care Services Support Program.
