HEYWOOD man Leonard Sciascia has been charged with murder and a 32-year-old Portland man charged with being an accessory, in relation to the shooting death of Troy Hocking.
Sciascia, 26, of Princes Highway, appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday at 2pm before Magistrate Ann McGarvie, via video link from Geelong, on a single charge of murder.
Sciascia was then remanded into custody until February 12, when he will reappear in the Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court for a committal hearing.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Kevin Mullins said Sciascia agreed to provide a forensic sample to police for the investigation.
Another man was arrested on Wednesday at 10am and charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder and appeared before a bail justice in an out of court session at 9pm at the Portland Police Station, according to Detective Senior Constable Ian Dickinson.
The man was bailed to appear in the Warrnambool Court on February 26.
