HOMERTON fire brigade members celebrated the official opening of their new $250,000 fire station yesterday.
The station was opened by the Member forSouth-WestCoast, Denis Napthine.
Dr Napthine said the brigade would benefit from the new station with improved technology, a better meeting room and training facilities, and new rainwater tanks to supplement domestic water use.
“The fire station offers two bays to house the brigade tanker and other resources that can be used throughout the district such as collar tanks (to make it easier to refill appliances from inaccessible rivers/creeks or dams) and quick fill pumps, with plenty of storage for vehicles, equipment and fire fighting appliances,” he said.
