ALL phones and 98 per cent of ADSL internet lines in Portland have been restored but many outlying areas and smaller towns in the Glenelg Shire still have no internet connection.
Heywood has all ADSL restored but many lines are unavailable at Cape Bridgewater, Dartmoor, Heathmere and Tyrendarra.
In the past week 50 per cent of internet connections have been restored across the south west and it’s expected the remaining lines could take another seven days to connect.
Internet and phone users have contacted the Portland Observer in the past two days to complain about the lack of services available, with one Portland resident still unable to use their landline.
Telstra south-west Victoria area manager Bill Mundy said residential customers experiencing ongoing difficulties where services should be restored in Portland or Heywood should call 13 22 00.
