HAMILTON Police were full of praise for residents around the western district, who celebrated the end of 2012 and welcomed the arrival of 2013.
The re-introduction of fireworks in Hamilton this year saw an increase in people in the town to welcome the new year.
Sergeant, Peter Freeman said crowds were on their best behaviour throughout Monday night.
“We didn’t have anyone in custody last night, so police are very pleased with how things went,” he said.
