BALMORAL’S Ian Grigg has supported the Western Bulldogs virtually his whole life.
Ever since he was invited to train with the club as a 17-year-old, he has been a passionate supporter of the club.
Now 65, his passion remains just as strong.
The Hamilton Spectator spoke to Grigg before the arrival of the Western Bulldogs in Hamilton today for their Australia Post AFL Community Camp.
The club’s entire playing list, along with a majority of the coaching staff, including senior coach Brendan McCartney, will be in Hamilton and district today and tomorrow.
Grigg hails from Apsley where he first pulled on a pair of football boots as an eight-year-old.
He retired as a player when 37 after serving the club with distinction throughout his playing career.
It was as a raw teenager that he got to live out every boy’s football dream.
