LAST week’s lightning strikes still have the district on high alert, with residents at Mirranatwa evacuating under threat from two fires – one covering more than 1200 hectares.
Scattered fires that started from lightning strikes in the Grampians on Thursday had resulted in two large complexes, still burning at time of going to press.
Yesterday afternoon, Mirranatwa homes were in the direct path of the large blaze, which was making its way down into the Victoria Valley low country
A CFA spokesman urged all residents in the area to keep ware of warnings and advice on the radio and CFA website.
