THE sudden closure of Hamilton’s Grangeburn Holden and Grangeburn Mitsubishi this week, leaves 22 employees out of work.
Administrators were called in by the Commonwealth Bank on Tuesday, after the bank froze the businesses’ accounts on Monday.
Activity at the Gray St site was subdued upon receiving the news, with employees turning up to be told they would no longer have a job.
None of those approached were ready to discuss the sudden closure; a small number of customers were still arriving yesterday, only to be turned away.
Grangeburn Holden and Grangeburn Mitsubishi owner, Andrew Rau, could not be contacted for comment.
