HE has been wandering the roads for more than 30 years, but Grant ‘John’ Cadoret has no destination, just a lifelong journey to live out.
Last week John’s whim took him through Hamilton for the first time and he was happy to rest in a grassy patch by the highway for a chat with The Spectator.
The 58-year-old has been making tracks across the Australian landscape since the age of 22, eating what he finds on the road and carrying everything he needs on his back.
After two decades of going largely unnoticed, John shot to national fame, dubbed ‘the highway man’ or the ‘modern swagman’ by the media.
