THE field is shaping up to be one of the biggest in the event’s history as the iconic Portland 3 Bays Marathon prepares for its 30th running this Sunday.
Portland Runners Club president Tony Curran said it was a great source of pride for the current committee and past committee members that the event has achieved such longevity to become a significant feature on running calendar.
“It is amazing that it has kept going the way it has and that comes down to the passion of those people not wanting to see it fall by the way side,” Curran said.
“We market it as a scenic run, and it is.”
