HAMILTON, Tarrington and Dunkeld’s water supply has been described as “truly secure” as storage levels at three reservoirs have hit 100 per cent.
Wannon Water has recorded 100 per cent storage at Hamilton’s Hayes, Cruckoor and Hartwichs reservoirs last week, which represents a total of 2628 megalitres.
Wannon Water managing director, Grant Green said a winter harvesting strategy had paid off and he was “pleased to report that the storages are at full capacity”.
“Hamilton system customers are supplied with water from a very secure supply system sourced from streams in the Southern Grampians catchment,” he said.
“Wannon Water has harvested water from the Southern Grampians catchment streams over the winter and spring to take full advantage of good seasonal rainfalls
“We now have enough water in the Hamilton and Rocklands Reservoirs to meet the needs of our customers for the next five years”.
