SOME families will this year be facing a Christmas without a son, daughter, brother or sister.
Compassionate Friends are holding a memorial service again this year for bereaved parents and siblings.
Tomorrow night families will come together for a night of songs and remembrance in a supportive environment.
Hamilton Compassionate Friends group leader, Sue Beaton said it was a chance to pause and remember a child, brother or sister in the business of the Christmas period.
“We have a display table with photographs and candles,” she said.
“We light a candle we say the child’s name out loud, it’s a ritual.”
Sue’s son Tim was killed in Mildura 11 years ago and she has attended the Compassionate Friends remembrance evening ever since.
