MONIVAE College opened its campaign at the Australian Schools Basketball Championships in Melbourne earlier this week.
The college is represented by a boys and a girls team, and are sharing the spotlight at Knox and Kilsyth stadiums with more than 100 teams from right across Australia.
This is the 10th time Monivae College has contested the tournament.
Both teams are competing in the Intermediate sections, which involves students from Year 8, 9 and 10.
The Monivae boys have played tough defence and have been in very game so far.
Their first game was against Bialik and was in the balance until their opponents clinched a 47-37 victory.
The boys then played Scotch College Adelaide.
In a very fast paced game, only four points separated the teams all game until Scotch pulled away in the fourth quarter to record a47-33 win.
Bendigo South East was next and despite a late rally Bendigo proved too strong and ran out 51-36 winners.
