WESTERN District Health Service (WDHS) Occupational Therapy department presented Hamilton Men’s Shed members with a homemade morning tea to thank them for the significant amount of equipment they had made and donated.
The women from the Occupational Therapy department were allowed to cross the threshold of the Men’s Shed on the condition they brought homemade scones and cakes.
The men have been busy making chair raisers, platform steps to access homes, balance beams, wheel chair ramps and other needed equipment.
Hamilton Men’s Shed chairman, James McCallum said the Hamilton community and businesses supported them.
“We enjoy the social interaction with each other as well as having somewhere to go,” he said.
“Building and repairing items of furniture or equipment is a great way we can give something back to others.”
