A HAMILTON primary school teacher and mother of eight has appeared in court facing charges relating to an indecent relationship with a primary school student.
Diane Brimble, 46, who has been suspended from her job as a teacher at a Hamilton primary school, appeared in the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
She was charged with three counts of committing an indecent act with a child under 16, including hugging, stroking the child on the back of the neck and kissing the child’s cheek.
She also appeared on charges of using a carriage service to procure a child under 16, using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a child under the age of 16, using a carriage service to groom a child under 16 and one of intentionally taking action that has resulted in the child suffering significant harm while being a person with a duty of care.
The alleged offending occurred between January 1 and April 19 this year.
Dressed in a black patterned dress, black boots and a black cardigan, Ms Brimble appeared in court trembling and on the verge of tears.
