CHRISTMAS spirit is in the air today.
After finishing off his Naughty and Nice list, Santa managed an early visit to Casterton last night to join in the festive celebrations.
Santa’s Christmas Eve visit, run by the Casterton Rotary Club, has been a tradition in Casterton for many years.
Santa arrived at the town hall on his sleigh, giving children one last chance to share their Christmas wishes.
“I’ve been coming to Casterton on Christmas eve for lots and lots of years,” Santa said.
“The children come and sit on my knee and get photos and my elves had all sorts of treats and lovely things for them.”
Santa – whose visit was organised by Roger Dalby – said his elves had worked very hard to fill the Christmas requests of all the children in Casterton who made the nice list.
“I’ve had lots of requests for cameras, iPads and iPhones and some unusual ones like donkeys and little ponies,” he said.
The community was already in the festive spirit after Sunday night’s Carols by Candlelight at Island Park.
