CASTERTON business owners have been busier than usual in the lead up to Christmas this year.
Christmas music has filled the streets this week as shoppers stepped out for last minute must-have decorations or forgotten gifts.
Kristy’s Flowers owner Kristy Cookson said she had been “absolutely flat out”.
“It’s a lot better this year,” she said.
“People are purchasing lots of flowers and giftware.
“A lot are buying bunches of flowers to put in their own homes.”
Ms Cookson said she felt there were more people out and about shopping.
“The last week has been really busy,” she said.
Judi Rees at This ‘n’ That said Christmas was traditionally a very good time for the shop.
“It’s mainly last minute containers or boxes or bags that people come in for, or their last minute gifts,” she said.
“I’ve been busy for probably six or eight weeks.
“I think people started their shopping much earlier this year.”
Casterton Business and Development Association assistant secretary Brian Murrell said he felt Christmas trading was about the same as normal.
