PENSHURST was out in force for the town’s annual cup day race meeting on Thursday.
More than 1100 people flocked through the gates from 11am onwards for Penshurst Racing Club’s solitary race meeting for the year
They were treated to seven races and plenty of family-focused entertainment.
Club secretary Brendan Kelly said a good day was enjoyed by all at the picturesque racecourse.
“We obviously had great weather and some great racing as well,” Mr Kelly said.
“The crowd was on par with recent years, probably about 1000 to 1100 people.
“It was a good family day out.”
Mr Kelly said the addition this year of activities by sports program specialists Kelly Sports had helped keep children entertained, while their parents attempted to back a winner or two.
