MEMBERS of the South Coast Drag Racing Association are readying themselves for a massive weekend of racing at the opening round of the Aeroflow Sportsman Championships at the South Coast Raceway.
More than 150 cars and a solid field of bikes are expected to take to the eighth mile track over the weekend, which will kick off on Friday night with a street car eliminator event as part of the Friday Night Street Legal Drags.
SCDRA member Greg Holland said the weekend ahead would be huge for the club and weather permitting he was expecting a busy schedule of high quality racing.
“We have at least five Australian number ones coming down for it, including Casterton’s Gavin Dohnt and Matt Forbes from Ballarat,” Holland said.
“Being the opening round of the series the best drivers from around Australia will be coming down try to get some points on the board to start the season.”
